Math For Liberal Arts

The intent of Math for Liberal Arts (21:640:106) is to help students who are majoring in one of the liberal arts successfully meet the University mathematics proficiency requirement.  Only students majoring in one of the liberal arts majors listed below should enroll in this course.

Prerequisite:

Elements of Algebra (21:640:102), or Intermediate Algebra Intensive (21:640:104), or Intermediate Algebra (21:640:105), or placement by examination.  Successful completion of Math for Liberal Arts with a grade of “C” or better fulfills the University mathematics proficiency requirement.  Credit is NOT given for Math for Liberal Arts AFTER receiving credit for any other mathematics course.  This course is intended for students majoring in one of the liberal arts who do NOT plan to enroll in additional courses in mathematics.

Only students majoring in one of the following liberal arts majors should enroll:

Criminal Justice (majors must take 920:301-302 for the statistics requirement)

Social Work (majors must take 920:301-302 for the statistics requirement)
Sociology
Spanish
Theater Arts and Television
