John Graham has been a faculty member at Rutgers University since 1986.  He served as the economics department chairperson from 2003-12.  Prior to joining Rutgers, he taught at the University of Illinois and the Pennsylvania State University.  He earned his BA degree at Brown University and his PhD at Northwestern University.  His research interests include macroeconomics, labor economics and demographic issues.  He is the author of more than 35 refereed journal articles and the co-author of Small Change:  The Economics of Child Support, published by Yale University Press.  He regularly teaches courses in macroeconomics and for the past 7 years has coached the Rutgers-Newark College Fed Challenge team.  His teams have made it to the national finals 4 times in the past 6 years.  In both 2009 and 2011 his teams placed second in the nation.
