Mission

The Honors College at Rutgers University – Newark is a destination for curious and motivated students who want to learn to think critically, act collaboratively, and graduate ready to become leaders in their professions and communities. Honors College students distinguish themselves by leading civic initiatives and campus organizations, contributing to scientific laboratories and humanities centers doing pioneering research and public engagement, and winning prestigious scholarships and fellowships on their way to graduate school, entrepreneurial start-ups, and careers in health, law, business, and other disciplines. Our innovative, interdisciplinary curriculum is taught by outstanding research faculty from throughout the university and features a liberal arts colloquium, one-on-one faculty mentoring, and unique project-based learning seminars where students pool their talents and expertise to address the challenges of our time. With 400 students enrolled across each of the schools at Rutgers University – Newark, we are a diverse, supportive, and inclusive community supported by a network of more than 1000 alumni recognized for their professional excellence and public achievements.
